Chapters 1-6 of Daniel Differ from Chapters 7-12

The book of Daniel is broken into 12 chapters and is able to be broken down into many sections

Chapter 1-2 begins with Daniel’s childhood and becoming king Nebuchadnezzar’s dream interpreter.  Chapter 3 stands alone as another story about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego overcoming the furnace, which Nebuchadnezzar sentenced them to.  Chapter 4 is another dream interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar.  Chapter 5 and 6 is about a different king, Belshazzar who orders Daniel to interpret a writing of a mysterious human hand.

Chapter 7 is a 1^st person narration of Daniel about a vision he saw from his dreams.  In Chapters 1-6 Daniel was the dream interpreter, yet in chapter 7-12 Daniel is given the interpretation.

Chapter 8 is about another vision of Daniel’s, which he cannot understand.  A holy being by the name of Gabriel interprets this vision for Daniel.  Chapter 9 there is a change in power of the kingdom and Daniel prays to God for the sin of his people.  A man named Gabriel, the same man from his pervious vision came upon Daniel and spoke of a prophecy about the future. 

Chapter 10-12 a being appears to Daniel and announces a prophecy of the end of the kingdom’s days.
