My intened major is Environmental Studies with a minor in Film Production.
I, Allen Ng, have toiled long and hard in search of what I have been designed for. I have previously narrowed it down to Film and Environmental Studies. While working on different film sets, I have gained an appreciation for the documentary film style. I want to inform and teach through the use of information and visualizations. Our society is integrating digital media into the learning curb. Through this art form, information is spread at an ever quicker speed and more in depth. I know this first hand as I take notes while watching the many documentaries that are present today.
When I became more environmentally aware, I started to notice that as we grow more intellectual and advance we consume more and more resources. Whether it is to create electricity for lighting or petroleum to fuel combustion engines of stealth bombers, we use a lot of resources. This wouldn't be such a bad thing if we are smart about how much we got. However, the rate we are using these resources is not healthy or intelligent for our planet. As sea temperatures begin to rise and polar ice caps continue to melt, our generation is in grave danger and we need to do something about it. We need to show the world that this is real and the time to change the world is now!
A very inspirational women told me once: If we can convince ten percent of world, we can change the world. This is what I intend to do. I believe that by studying the environment I can inform ten percent of the world through documentary film making. Hopefully, changing the world.

I have searched long and hard for any ounce of creativity my mind has within the deep trenches of its ever-growing self-awareness. And in my search found very little of what can be called as imagination. With the use of words as paint to smear color into the black and white pages of text, I have now began to concentrate my energies onto what makes me most happy, writing. It has been a long distant road of endless trial and error that I have gone against. I have tried many talents and arts from: playing the harmonica to filming a documentary, from basketball to surfing, and from welding to stagecraft, I have tried numerous different things.But, in the end I have fallen back to my first love, the art of writing on paper.
