I sent a love poem today, to a girl I hardly knew

but plan eventually to

I hope she don't mind

the things i sent

but thats what i truly ment.

It has been so long

since i wrote in verse form

that it seems oddly strange

that this tense is engraved in my brain

And feels so natural to do

to begin speech and talk

with a beat.
